Let Water Speak! It has its own story: WRC 50th Anniversary Poster Making Contest
As part of the 50th anniversary celebration, WRC hosted an On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest with the theme “Let water speak! It has its own story.” The event celebrates the 50-year mission of WRC through visual art. It also served as an avenue for young artists to demonstrate their skills, while raising awareness and inspiring action towards challenges on water resources. The was held on the 23rd of July 2025, at the SAFAD Building Student Lounge of the University of San Carlos, Talamban Campus.
In a world that is increasingly urbanized, water conservation is often neglected and abused in its function as a finite resource. The theme of the contest highlighted how society often ignores or even silences the voice of water in the pursuit of economic development. True insight, sustainable design, and sound decision-making can only be achieved when people choose to listen to water. This collection of artworks bridges science and art, reflecting both the challenges we face and the hope for a better, more sustainable future. The participants rendered their own interpretations of this sentiment through depictions of how society and the natural world interact and the human activities that affect natural resources, with various elements and colors. This collection of artworks bridges science and art, reflecting both the challenges people face and the hope for a better, more sustainable future.
